No experience necessary to join this group
The Genealogy Interest group of the University League has been active since 1982 with new members joining every year. Currently we have approximately 38 members and are always interested in welcoming new people with similar interests.
Our purpose is to inform our members about all things pertaining to family history. We accomplish this with member interaction, member and outside speaker presentations and/or visits to sites of genealogical importance.
There are one or two leaders of this group who organize speakers, organize the hostesses and co-hostesses, notify members about the meetings, and handle odds and ends as they come up.
We meet monthly from September through May, except December, on the 4 th Monday at 7PM in primarily in member’s homes or other venues. Co-Hostesses provide beverages and delicious desserts for the participants. Members are notified monthly by email about the up-coming meeting. If a member cannot use email, they will be notified by mail at the member’s expense.
We encourage our current interest group members to invite guests who have an interest in genealogy to attend our meetings. These guests could become new University League members. Help us grow!
We have a great line up of speakers and topics for 2011-12. Click on link to see calendar of speakers and topics.
